Sony Won Seven Awards at the EISA Awards 2024
Among the awards, those in the "Camera of the Year" category, awarded to the Alpha 9 III, and "Smartphone of the Year for Content Creators," awarded to the Xperia 1 VI, stand out.
August 15, 2024 - Sony proudly announces that its high-quality and innovative products have once again received well-deserved recognition at the prestigious Expert Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Awards 2024. Sony won a total of seven awards, reaffirming its dedication to innovation and the excellent quality of the brand's products, which enhance the user experience. Among the awards are "Camera of the Year" for the Alpha 9 III and "Smartphone of the Year for Content Creators" for the Sony Xperia 1 VI.
Each year, the awards are presented to new products that combine cutting-edge technology and class-leading features, selected by an expert panel from the most authoritative magazines in the industry.

The EISA jury presented the following key arguments to justify the awarding of products at this year's ceremony.
EISA CAMERA OF THE YEAR 2024-2025: Alpha 9 III
With the Alpha 9 III, Sony achieves a technological breakthrough. It is the world's first camera with a global shutter, where all pixels are read simultaneously, rather than row by row. This means that distortions from the electronic shutter are a thing of the past. In addition, the camera can achieve a shutter speed of up to 1/80,000 sec., making it possible for the first time to synchronize the flash with all shutter speeds. Problems with flickering artificial light are also a thing of the past. In sports and action photography, the camera can shoot an unprecedented 120 frames per second at full 24MP raw resolution, including with tracking autofocus. Furthermore, the Alpha 9 III's Pre-Capture function allows users to capture moments up to 1 second before pressing the shutter button. The distortion-free global shutter also benefits video creators, who can rely on 4K video recording at 60p (generated from 6K) and impressive 4K slow-motion video at 120p without cropping.
EISA APS-C CAMERA 2024-2025: Alpha 6700
The Alpha 6700 is the new top model in Sony's APS-C camera series. It is designed for advanced photography and videography enthusiasts and proves that the APS-C format has a future. The camera utilizes Sony's latest autofocus features, including advanced subject detection, human pose estimation, and tracking. The newly developed 26MP sensor provides significantly faster data readout speed compared to previous models—something that greatly improves autofocus. Thanks to it, you also get less distortion, both in photos and videos, when using the electronic shutter. The Alpha 6700 also inherits some high-tech video features from Sony's Cinema Line cameras, such as 4K/120p recording. We highly appreciate the improved ergonomic features compared to previous models and the larger, more comfortable grip with additional control buttons.
EISA TELEPHOTO LENS 2024-2025: Sony FE 300mm F2.8 GM OSS
The Sony FE 300mm F2.8 GM OSS is a very sharp and fast telephoto lens for Sony E-mount cameras. This type of lens is a long-standing favorite of sports photographers and wildlife photographers who need both a long range and a wide aperture to blur the background, as well as fast shutter speeds to capture the action. It is the lightest in its class, almost half the usual weight of previous lenses. This makes it easy to use even handheld for extended periods. With 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, it remains an impressively small and lightweight 420mm f/4 or 600mm f/5.6 lens, while maintaining fantastic image quality.
