Angenieux's Optimo Ultra Compact lenses are the second generation of lightweight lenses, successors to the Optimo 15-40 and 28-76. The Ultra Compact feature an entirely new optical design, providing FF/VV coverage, a wide aperture of T2.9 and excellent performance and image quality.

The mechanical design has also seen an overhaul with the Optimo Ultra Compact lenses - they are lightweight and compact, but rugged and durable, with precise zoom and focus groups using Angenieux's classic rod mechanical guiding system. The focus ring has a rotation of 310° and can easily be swapped between metric and imperial scales. 

The IRO technology allows the lenses to be swapped between FF/VV format (46.3mm image circle coverage) and U35mm (34.6mm image circle coverage).
