The Windjammer, first introduced by Rycote, is a high quality synthetic fur-cover designed to provide the highest level of protection against extreme wind-noise. When used over a Windshield, it can achieve up to 50 dB of wind-noise attenuation, resulting in excellent audio recordings. The Windjammer is available in various sizes to fit different types of windshields, and is made from specially designed materials that have virtually no adverse effect on high-frequency sounds.

Each Windjammer comes with a drawstring and toggle for easy and snug fitting, although some users may prefer the zipped version which can be requested. It is important to keep the Windjammer in good condition for maximum effectiveness, which is why each one comes with a fold flat hairbrush for ongoing maintenance. Please note that the microphone is not included with the Windjammer.
