Ultrawide, ultra-portable

The advanced nature of the RF lens mount allowed us to design the most portable AF ultrawide ever, without compromising on quality or performance. At just 570g, it weighs 610g less than our EF 11-24mm f4L USM lens, despite offering a wider angle of view and an optical Image Stabilizer.

STEADY AND STABLE

Ultrawide lenses have many benefits, but a common problem is that image stabilisation in the far corners of the frame is hard to achieve without distortion. As a result, the corners of the frame can appear to be wobbly in video and blurred in still images. Peripheral Coordinated Control IS is designed to reduce distortion by using a new algorithm detects shake and maximises the lens’ optical IS to compensate for distortion.

Expect incredible clarity and low distortion, with straight lines remaining straight even at the edges of the frame. Superb sharpness comes from an advanced optical formula that uses glass moulded aspherical elements, UD and Super UD glass, and state-of-the-art optical coatings.
