About the product

HOYA HD MK II IRND64 is a particular gray filter that offers much more than simple exposure correction. In addition to the standard image darkening of 6 degrees of aperture it also ensures excellent color reproduction - it effectively blocks infrared light. The photo and video recordings made with its use will be free of unpredictable rust-colored tones.

Gray ND filters have a wide range of creative uses in both photography, video and filmmaking. They are mainly used to prolong the exposure time which creates a motion blur effect, particularly visible in landscape photography. Furthermore, they allow a greater opening of the lens diaphragm during video or still photography, allowing you to obtain an optimal depth of field, even in the presence of strong ambient light.

Gray filters uniformly darken the entire image surface, so they can be used to lengthen the exposure time or to obtain a larger aperture of the lens. For years these very versatile accessories have made it possible to expand the creative possibilities of photographers and directors by overcoming the technical limitations of cameras and video cameras.

Very often the shots, both photos and videos, taken using cheaper gray filters have a tone similar to that of a brick which is due to infrared light. The ACCU-ND technology used in HOYA IRND filters is able to eliminate it completely and guarantees images with completely natural colors.
HOYA filters are made of excellent performance optical glass and covered with various anti-reflection coatings that will make your photos free from annoying reflections and glare, even in bright light conditions.
Finally you can forget about the constant cleaning of the objective lens - the numerous hydro and oleophobic coatings, applied to the filter surface, effectively prevent the formation of salt water stains or greasy fingerprints, so these filters are practically always ready for use .
The IRND filters of the HD Mk II line have been equipped with a very thin frame, made of lightweight aluminium, which eliminates the problem of vignetting even when using wide-angle lenses. Furthermore, these filters, thanks to the thread on the front of the frame, can be easily joined together.
