Sony wins in five categories at the TIPA Awards 2022, including "Best Full-Frame Professional Camera" for Sony Alpha 7 IV

Sony proudly announced that the prestigious Technical Image Press Association once again recognized the quality and innovativeness of Sony's products with a total of five TIPA awards. With accolades in both Digital Photography and the Mobile Industry, Sony won awards such as "Best Full-Frame Camera" for Alpha 7 IV.

BEST FULL-FRAME PROFESSIONAL CAMERA: Alpha 7 IV

TIPA editors share the firm conviction that all photographers who are ready to develop and expand their creative capabilities when working with photos and videos will find much to love in the A7 IV. Thanks to a special design that uses a full-frame 33MP Exmor R back-illuminated sensor, low noise levels and images with vibrant colors are achieved, with improved low-light performance with native ISO up to 51,200 in addition to a remarkable 15-stop dynamic range at the lowest ISO settings. The TIPA jury believes that the lens design meets the growing needs of today's creators of photographic, video, and hybrid content. This second-generation lens comes to market six years after the original G Master 24-70mm zoom lens. It is smaller and lighter with improved (2X) AF tracking thanks to four of Sony's developed XD linear motors, in addition to an entirely new optical structure that includes three aspherical elements, two of which are the unique XA (extreme aspherical) elements for high resolution, two extra-low dispersion elements and two Super ED elements with Nano AR Coating II. Video feature improvements include extremely smooth and quiet AF, less unwanted focus breathing when zooming, Linear Response MD manual focus for more control during manual focusing, and support for the focus breathing compensation function from compatible Alpha series cameras. Other new features include an improved lens hood that works with various filters, an 11-blade aperture, and better dust and moisture protection.
