Sony Introduces Next-Generation ZV-E10 II and E PZ 16-50MM F3.5-5.6 OSS II for Content Creators
Sony's Newest APS-C ZV Series Camera Features Some of the Most Sought-After Features and Updates from Best-Selling Mirrorless Cameras
July 10, 2024, Today Sony launches the ZV-E10 II - the second generation of its best-selling mirrorless camera1 ZV-E10. The original ZV-E10 was a key model in the ZV series – designed specifically for content creators, providing them with easy and compact tools for their work. The new ZV-E10 II retains all the beloved features of the first vlogging model, but now improved and even more intuitive. These include Creative Looks, Product Showcase, Background Defocus, and a vari-angle screen for shooting.

The ZV-E10 II's hardware utilizes an advanced 26-megapixel Exmor R™ CMOS sensor and a BIONZ XR™ processor – Sony's latest image processing system. Additional model updates include improved autofocus and video recording features. These include:
- Cinematic Vlog Settingii, with a new user interface (UI) with vertical format;
- an updated high-capacity Sony Z battery for better endurance;
- improved connectivity for easy live streaming and data transfer.
The camera is lightweight and easy to use, weighing approximately 377 gramsiii.
In addition, the E PZ 16-50MM F3.5-5.6 OSS II lens is also being released – a compact APS-C power zoom lens that will be available separately or bundled with the ZV-E10 II. All kit models are lightweight, with improved autofocus (AF) and optimized video shooting options compared to the first-generation model.
“From the very beginning, Sony’s ZV line was developed with the idea of creating high-quality yet intuitive cameras. The latest additions to the line follow this standard, but elevate functionality to a new level,” says Yann Salmon Legagneur, Head of Marketing, Imaging Products & Solutions, Sony Europe. “The ZV-E10 II improvements reflect our desire to inspire creators to grow and rediscover their unique style. Features like Creative Looks and Cinematic Vlog Setting are examples of tools developed precisely with this in mind. We remain dedicated to our mission of continuously refining our technologies to help creators worldwide realize their ideas, regardless of their experience,” he adds.
Premium Photo and Video Shooting in Your Style
Creative Looks and Cinematic Vlog Setting are two of the ZV-E10 II’s key features. They ensure that captured content is of premium quality and in the form it was made with just the camera. When shooting videos and photos, users can instantly enhance their shots by choosing one of ten Creative Look options:
- Standard (ST);
- Portrait (PT);
- Neutral (NT);
- Vivid (VV);
- Vivid 2 (VV2);
- Film (FL);
- Instant (IN);
- Soft Highkey (SH);
- Black & White (BW);
- Sepia (SE).
Each can be further customized and refined through eight different parameters. Users can save up to six personal shooting styles, fully set to their preferences down to the smallest detail for easy reuse.
For cinematic video content, the ZV-E10 II offers the Cinematic Vlog option. This function automatically adjusts the aspect ratio, frame rate, and smooth autofocus transitions. This achieves optimal settings for cinema-quality content. Users can also choose one of five “looks” such as S-Cinetone™ which enhances skin tones. They also have the option to apply one of four color accent variants, for example, to eloquently express their creative vision.

Designed with Environmental Principles in Mind
The body of the ZV-E10 II camera is made from recycled materials, including SORPLAS™xvi, with the aim of reducing environmental impact, but without compromising practicality. The individual packaging is made from Sony's unique "Original Blended Material" recycled paper, which uses materials such as bamboo, sugar cane fibers, and recycled paper. In the past 11 years, Sony has replaced approximately 395 tonnesxvii of virgin plastic with recycled plastic in digital cameras and digital camcorders.
Key Features of the Versatile E PZ 16-50MM F3.5-5.6 OSS II Lens
The E PZ 16-50MM F3.5-5.6 OSS II is Sony's 75th E-mount lens. An ideal complement to the new ZV-E10 II with its compact size and versatile range (35mm full-frame focal length equivalent: 24-75mm). High resolution is achieved thanks to four aspherical elements and one ED (extra-low dispersion) element. With a minimum focal distance of 9.8 inches (0.25m) (at the wide end)/11.8 inches (0.30m) and a maximum magnification of 0.215x, the E PZ 16-50MM F3.5-5.6 OSS II allows versatile close-up work for capturing details. The E PZ 16-50MM F3.5-5.6 OSS II retracts to approximately 31.3mm when the camera is turned off. Thanks to its compact size and weight of approximately 107 grams, it is easily portable and suitable for daily use.
Smooth and motorized zoom control is suitable for filming, and autofocus is available even during zooming. Built-in optical stabilizationxvii works with in-body stabilization[2], including in active mode, to minimize shake during shooting. The E PZ 16-50MM F3.5-5.6 OSS II supports in-body breathing compensation[3] to minimize angle of view shift during focusing for smooth and stable footage.
The ZV-E10 II and E PZ 16-50MM F3.5-5.6 OSS II will be available at the end of July 2024.
