The LUMIX GH7 offers significant improvements in video capture speed and quality, and much more. It features a 25.2M BSI CMOS sensor and improved autofocus performance with phase detection autofocus, which adds real-time recognition autofocus for humans/animals/cars/motorcycles/trains/airplanes. It also includes internal Apple ProRes RAW recording and 32-bit float recording, which eliminates the need to adjust audio recording levels during shooting. World's First In-Camera 32-bit Float Audio Recording

In combination with the DMW-XLR2 (sold separately), the LUMIX GH7 offers the world's first 32-bit float recording*, improving the quality and efficiency of the entire workflow. With its wide dynamic range, 32-bit float format records more information—from quiet to loud sounds—eliminating the need for tedious audio level adjustments during recording.

Internal ProRes RAW HQ Recording

5.7K 30p ProRes RAW HQ footage can be recorded in-camera, giving you the freedom to capture the moment with a single button press, minimal setup, and no need for external devices. Improved gimbal compatibility also expands the range of expression.

ARRI LogC3 Recording

With the DMW-SFU3A Software Upgrade Key (sold separately), users can utilize ARRI LogC3*, which enables color matching with ARRI digital cinema cameras. Image processing of the ARRI LogC3 curve on the LUMIX GH7 is certified by ARRI for the implementation of this feature. Recording options in Log mode, which provides rich color information and a wide dynamic range, have been expanded to include ARRI LogC3 in addition to conventional V-Log, further enhancing LUMIX workflow compatibility.

*ARRI LogC3 is a Log gamma developed by ARRI and used in ARRI digital cinema cameras. Please note: ALEXA 35 uses ARRI LogC4.

Exceptional Reliability

No need to stop shooting due to overheating (a known issue for Panasonic Lumix users). The compact body of the GH7 and its heat dissipation structure allow for extended recording even when shooting with high loads (4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p, ProRes RAW HQ).

 

 

Phase Hybrid AF

The most important thing about autofocus is reliability. In addition to contrast AF, the LUMIX GH7 offers a phase detection AF system, which significantly improves subject tracking performance and metering technologies. The camera can capture the subject even in challenging scenes involving multiple subjects, ensuring accuracy even in backlit or low-light conditions.

 

 

Real-time Recognition

The advanced recognition autofocus of LUMIX expands shooting capabilities for sports, wildlife, and cars/motorcycles. The LUMIX GH7 can now recognize a wider range of subjects and target parts, including human and animal eyes, the front of vehicles, helmets of drivers and motorcyclists, the first car of a train, and the nose of an airplane.

 

 

Richer Tonal Expression

The dynamic range boost function acquires two types of images with a single exposure and synthesizes them in real-time to create composite images with a rich tonal range even in scenes with significant brightness differences. For still images, it allows for richer tonal expression of shadows in RAW data. For video, it allows recording of 13+ stops V-Log/V-Gamut.

 

 

Real-time LUT

LUTs can be applied to photos and videos directly in the camera body, allowing you to create photos and videos straight from the camera. It supports ".VLT" and ".CUBE" file formats. By using this function, you can save time on the complex post-editing process. In combination with the LUMIX Lab app, you can easily create your own LUTs and install them in the camera.

 

 

LUMIX Lab App

The GH7's super-fast Wi-Fi connection allows you to connect the camera to your smartphone in three steps and transfer content seamlessly. You can also crop, adjust brightness, and apply LUTs, enabling easy editing for any social media platform in an instant.

Camera integration with Adobe's Frame.io service

With Frame.io's Camera to Cloud feature, creators' images and videos are automatically uploaded, archived, shared, and collaborated on via the cloud.

 

 

Live Streaming

Choose your favorite streaming approach to share your latest in real-time! For outdoor use, wireless live streaming (RTMP/RTMPS) is easily set up with the LUMIX Sync app. For indoor use, highly stable wired live streaming (RTP/RTSP) is also available.

Unlimited Video Recording Time

Offering 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p internal recording, the LUMIX GH7 provides unlimited recording time when used within the recommended operating temperature (-10°F-104°F).

Ideal for small production teams and in challenging environments where mobility and high quality are essential. It also allows simultaneous internal recording and external recording via HDMI output.
