Canon Introduces Five New 4K Camcorders
Shoot and tell your story with XA65/XA60, XA75/XA70 and LEGRIA HF G70
Today, Canon Europe introduces four professional camcorders – XA65, XA60, XA75 and XA70 – alongside the semi-professional LEGRIA HF G70. The new camcorders are suited to a wide range of applications, including documentaries, corporate events or education. Capable of capturing content in exceptional 4K quality, with HD UVC streaming via USB-C[i], advanced autofocus, and face detection, these models offer professional performance. They all enable MP4 recording, and the four professional camcorders support XF-AVC recording for broadcast applications.
High-quality 4K capture
With Canon's range of compact camcorders, content creators can easily capture stunning 4K video in any situation. Equipped with a DIGIC DV6 processor and using a 1/2.3” type CMOS sensor and 1.0” type CMOS sensor respectively, the XA65/XA60 and XA75/XA70 capture 4K UHD video and Full HD video with oversampling for superior HD quality, making them ideal for a wide range of applications. Thanks to Canon's intelligent optics, these camcorders offer impressive zoom functionality. Achieving a wide 35mm angle, the XA65/XA60 offers 20x optical zoom, and the XA75/XA70 15x zoom. All professional models support 40x digital zoom, which extends to 800x on the XA65/XA60 and 600x on the XA75/XA70. With impeccable video recording capabilities, these models are designed for efficient and convenient operation with a large 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen display and a high-resolution viewfinder.
Precise focus, steady video
With Canon's precise autofocus systems, the XA65/XA60 and XA75/XA70 ensure that content creators can easily focus on their subjects and follow the action. Thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, the XA75/XA70 models provide fast and precise focusing, and Dual Pixel Focus Guide makes it easy to manually focus on the subject. The XA65/XA60 range uses an advanced Hybrid AF system for precise focusing even in low light conditions. All models offer adjustable focus speeds for fast or slow and smooth autofocus, which can be controlled via the 3.5-inch LCD display, allowing operators to easily set the AF point by touch. For even greater precision and convenience, especially in busy environments where operators need to keep the subject in focus, "Face Detection AF" and "Face Tracking" modes are available. All models feature manual focus, which can be adjusted either via the focus/zoom ring or via the lens control ring on the XA75/XA70. Using a 5-axis image stabilizer, these models capture stable footage.
Flexible recording formats
With a range of flexible recording settings, the XA65/XA60 and XA75/XA70 seamlessly integrate into professional workflows, whether shooting with XF-AVC 4K UHD 160Mbps codec at 25P for broadcast, or using the more manageable MP4 4K UHD 150Mbps codec at 25P with smaller data size. With multiple specialized recording settings, including high and low frame rate recording, on-screen display recording for embedding date and time in video, and infrared mode for dark capture, these camcorders can be used for a wide range of applications. They can also be easily integrated into multi-camera setups thanks to the custom image settings menu, which allows users to match colors with other Canon cameras. For professional audio recording, the XA65/XA60 and XA75/XA70 offer two XLR audio inputs with 4-channel linear PCM audio recording and the ability to set the recording level and input sensitivity.
Improved connectivity options
Canon's new professional camcorders offer advanced connectivity to enable easy and fast transmission of high-definition video. The XA65/XA60 and XA75/XA70 can stream HD UVC video via USB-Ci to a computer – ideal for educational or religious institutions that are increasingly offering both in-person and virtual services. All models feature HDMI output and two SD card slots, allowing for relay recording or simultaneous backup recording, with the XA65 and XA75 offering an additional 3G-SDI output.
Unleash your inner filmmaker
Designed for aspiring filmmakers and documentarians, the LEGRIA HF G70 is a versatile camcorder offering professional capabilities in a convenient size, so everyone can shoot like a pro. Using a 1/2.3 type CMOS sensor and a high-quality 20x zoom lens, the camcorder captures 4K UHD video in MP4 format and HD video with oversampling for impeccable image quality. HDMI and USB-C output allow users to use the LEGRIA HF G70 as a webcam for high-quality video calls and sharing content online. Additional scene modes are also available, including night mode, on-screen display recording, and an audio scene mode that ensures sound recording adapted to the shooting environment.
