GODOX A1 – the first external flash and radio trigger for mobile phones
Smartphone photography is steadily growing and becoming the preferred way of shooting for more and more photo enthusiasts, and even professionals. The incomparable convenience of having a camera with you everywhere without unnecessary baggage is one of the main advantages of a smartphone. New smartphones have increasingly better sensors and optics, and we can safely say that they have surpassed low-end cameras, which are literally disappearing from the market.
There are numerous photography exhibitions and even feature films entirely shot with a phone, and leading smartphone manufacturers are in a fierce battle to improve image quality and the capabilities of built-in cameras.
GODOX opens a new door in smartphone photography with the new GODOX A1 – a flash, continuous light, and most importantly, a synchronizer for smartphones. Until now, studio photography and the use of pulsed lighting in general was an inaccessible topic for mobile phones. Until now! GODOX A1 is part of the GODOX X1 system, which combines studio, mobile, handheld, and compact flashes and radio synchronizers, representing a universal, reliable, and complete solution for controlling and synchronizing pulsed lighting.
How does GODOX A1 work?
GODOX A1 connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth and to flashes via the GODOX X1 2.4 GHZ system. All flashes from the current generation of GODOX and DYNAPHOS have a built-in X1 receiver or are compatible with one, and for older studio flashes or flashes from different brands, an X1R receiver can be used, which supports TTL and HSS (if the flash itself has this functionality).
You need to use the GODOX mobile application, available for iOS and Android. The application is used as an alternative to the standard camera application on the smartphone and allows for manual settings, triggering, and controlling pulsed lighting.
GODOX A1 also has a built-in flash and LED continuous lighting, which makes it a convenient mobile light source when you don't have space for large equipment.
