Today, Sony announced the new ZV-1F vlogging camera. More Creative Freedom
ZV-1F is designed to make your subject stand out in any scene, thanks to the ultra-wide-angle fixed 20mm lens, which is the optimal choice for selfies and provides a wide field of view to capture more of the background. The vlogging camera also offers background bokeh for both photos and videos, further highlighting the subject or creating a softer look.
Skin tones are optimized for both video and photos, thanks to the Soft Skin Effect option, which smooths and reduces imperfections while shooting video, and creates a natural skin tone effect in photo mode. The Face Priority AE function automatically adjusts brightness while shooting, so you can capture faces with optimal brightness even in situations with varying light. The ZV-1F boasts high focusing precision and Eye AF for humans and animals, allowing focus on the face and eyes without drifting to other subjects. Users can easily switch between different subjects from the camera's touchscreen.
In addition, you have image stabilization while shooting video clips in Active Mode[v] (electronic), to guarantee stable and smooth footage, even while walking.
The new Creative Look function gives users the option to choose from several preset options to create the desired atmosphere for both photos and videos, thanks to different settings for tone, brightness, color depth, and more. A total of 10 modes are available for users to realize their creative ideas and share content instantly without the need for additional editing.
ZV-1F also offers S&Q mode[vi] for shooting both slow motion at up to 5x slower speed,[vii] and quick motion at up to 60x faster[viii] hyperlapse speed to achieve the desired effect.
Besides quality photos and video recordings, high-quality audio is also crucial for creating perfect content. The directional three-capsule microphone and windscreen ensure clear voice recording and reduce noise when shooting outdoors in windy environments.
Easy-to-Use Compact Vlogging Device
ZV-1F is designed for absolute ease of use, so vloggers can focus on content creation thanks to its intuitive and easy operation. Weighing just 229g,[ix] it is compact and light enough for everyday use, so you can carry it everywhere with you. The camera also offers a rotating Vari-Angle LCD touchscreen with functions and settings that are controlled with a single touch, including zoom capability[x], for maximum intuitive camera operation.
The new vlogging camera includes a Bokeh Switch button for quickly switching between background bokeh settings when you want to highlight the face, and no bokeh, even during video recording. A Product Showcase setting is also available, allowing users to smoothly and quickly switch focus between the face and products - ideal for product review videos.
ZV-1F also offers a self-timer[xi] and a recording indicator, making it even easier to capture video content.
Connectivity and Accessories
The new ZV-1F vlogging camera is optimized for use with a smartphone. Sony's new Imaging Edge Mobile Plus™ app[xii] allows users to connect to their camera via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and transfer images and video. Recorded content is easily transferred to a smartphone, from where it can be uploaded to social platforms. Users can even mark frames for social media posting with shot marking[xiii] during shooting or from the camera. In addition, users can crop and transfer individual 15, 30, or 60-second [xiv] marked clips to their smartphone, which can be directly published on social media without needing to edit the length according to the specific platform.
The Imaging Edge Mobile Plus™ app also allows users to manage many camera settings such as date, time, and region, as well as software updates and help guides. It can also be used to remotely control the ZV-1F and shows battery level and remaining storage space.
Users can even use the ZV-1F as a high-quality live streaming device[xv]. When used with a suitable video conferencing application or other similar software, the ZV-1F can function as a high-quality webcam by connecting to a computer or smartphone via USB[xvi].
ZV-1F is compatible with the GP-VPT2BT shooting grip[xvii] with wireless remote control, which offers zoom control, recording, and many other functions and can extend into a mini tripod for stable shots while keeping your hands free. An external microphone[xviii] can also be easily connected to the accessory shoe for clear audio recording.
Supporting a Sustainable Future
ZV-1F is developed with eco-friendly features and technologies that ensure a sustainable future. Both the camera body and the accessories included in the package, including the newly developed windscreen[xix], utilize recycled materials,[xx] including SORPLASTM[xxi], which are adapted to ensure reliable performance. To reduce the amount of plastic used in packaging, the product is delivered in non-woven bags made from plant-based materials.
