NIKON | RED introduces ZR: The Z "ALL-IN-ONE" Cinema Camera

Nikon | RED expands the Z CINEMA series with the addition of the full-frame cinema camera ZR. Developed for filmmakers and creatives on the go, the ZR is the lightest all-in-one cinema camera in its class1 and offers significantly more cinematic power for its weight. Thanks to its 6K full-frame sensor, RED's renowned color science, a large in-camera display, and internal 32-bit float audio, users shooting with the all-new ZR can capture stunning video clips and clean audio without the need for external equipment.

From carefully directed scenes to dynamic impromptu shots, the ZR is the ideal tool for storytellers who want to enhance their video content. Up to 6K/60p in-camera recording and a full suite of professional video recording formats provide workflow flexibility with virtually any platform or workflow. Standout features include the exclusive R3D NE codec, which brings RED's renowned color science to Nikon products. Additionally, the ZR features dual native ISO of 800/6400, maintaining the sensor's 15+ stop dynamic range for maximum detail in highlights and shadows.
For flexible shooting setups, the ZR's 4-inch vari-angle display is a huge advantage. The large, bright display functions as a comprehensive control panel and covers the DCI-P3 color gamut for accurate color monitoring during shoots. Since the picture is only half the story, the ZR also makes its mark as the world's first camera1 to offer internal 32-bit float audio recording. The dynamic range of 32-bit audio is so extensive that there will be no need to constantly monitor levels during shooting: audio can be captured freely, and levels adjusted in post-processing without the risk of clipping.

Other professional features of the ZR include full weather sealing and a wide selection of lenses, thanks to compatibility with Nikon and other manufacturers' lenses. In addition, the ZR offers broad system expandability, and Nikon's new ME-D10 digital directional microphone covers rich directional audio capture across a wide range of recording environments.
Zurab Kiknadze, Product Manager, Nikon Europe, says: "Today we pull back the curtain on Nikon's first true cinema camera. Our collaboration with RED is bearing fruit, and the cinematic future looks bright!"
