Metz 58 AF-2 Digital Use

Metz 58 AF-2 за дигитална употреба

"About half a year ago, I became acquainted with the latest model of system flash from the German company Metz - Metz 52 AF 1 Digital. At that time, I promised myself that I would give myself the opportunity to try out the company's flagship model - Metz 58 AF 2 Digital.

The official representative of Metz – Dynaphos – made it possible for me to fulfill that promise, and here in my hands is the aforementioned top model. In the era of digital photography, working with a system flash is different compared to the time when film was used. I might be wrong, but I draw this conclusion based on my own experience. When shooting with film, I rarely had a problem using direct flash. When shooting with a digital camera, I rarely allow myself to use a directly aimed flash. Generally, these are cases where the subject is very far from me and I cannot reach it with reflected light. Currently, when shooting with a system flash, I use all sorts of tricks to soften the light to get a good image – diffusers, reflectors, and others... the flashes have not gotten worse; on the contrary, I simply believe that the camera's sensor still cannot handle the strong contrast, which, for example, was not such a problem for film. This overture was necessary as an explanation for why I examined the Metz 58 AF 2 Digital so carefully."
