Meet Zoom Instamic - the smallest professional microphones for uncompromising sound
Meet Zoom Instamic — the smallest professional microphones for uncompromised sound
In the world of video production, mobile content, and on-set sound recording, sound quality is just as important as the picture. We introduce Zoom Instamic — ultra-compact, waterproof, and extremely flexible microphones with a built-in recorder, making professional sound accessible everywhere.

Available in two versions:
Instamic Mono — clean and focused mono audio
Instamic Stereo/Mono — flexible solution for stereo, mono, or dual mono recordings
About Instamic
These miniature recorders are designed to capture high-quality sound without complicated cables and external recording devices. They combine 32-bit float recording and omnidirectional MEMS microphones, which means you capture a wide frequency range and dynamics — from quiet whispers to loud sounds — without distortion.
Each Instamic features:
-
16 GB internal memory (± 22 hours of audio)
-
Bluetooth connectivity for wireless monitoring or streaming to a smartphone/computer
-
Built-in battery with up to 4.5 hours of operation
-
USB-C charging
-
IP67 water and dust resistant casing - Withstands up to 30 minutes at 1 meter depth
This makes them ideal for both professional productions and vlogging, travel videos, interviews, documentary footage, and action scenes.
Instamic Mono — the clean and compact mono version
Instamic Mono is the perfect choice when you need clean, focused mono audio — for example, for voice, interviews, or narration. It uses a 4-microphone array that captures sound from all directions (omnidirectional) but records it as a mono signal for maximum clarity.
Key advantages:
-
32-bit float recording without digital clipping — no loss of detail
-
Excellent for dialogue, interviews, podcasts, or voice-over narration
-
Waterproof and resistant to outdoor conditions
-
Operates autonomously — no need for an external recorder
If you're looking for compactness and simplicity with professional quality, Instamic Mono is the "hidden" hero in the audio world.
Instamic Stereo/Mono — flexibility for all types of recording
This model adds two more side microphones that allow stereo recording, in addition to the standard mono. This gives more creative freedom when recording music, atmosphere, scenes with spatial sound, as well as options for different modes:
Stereo — true left/right channel separation
Dual Mono — identical independent mono signal in both channels
Mono — clean mono main recording
Who is it suitable for?
-
Video content creators who want richer, more spatial sound
-
Music recordings, ambisonic scenes, nature sounds
-
Projects where stereo recording is key to emotional impact
Practical use
Both versions work great standalone (they save audio internally), but they can also serve as Bluetooth microphones, connected directly to a smartphone or computer via the app, which provides control over settings and real-time monitoring.
They integrate seamlessly with popular video apps and cameras, including GoPro, Insta360 and other action cameras, which simplifies the workflow without additional sync processes in post-production
